At CL Cosmetic, our responsibility towards people and nature is deeply rooted.
\nWe are constantly striving to improve our products in terms of sustainability.
\nYears ago, we already took a close look at the issue of microplastics and decided not to use them in our cosmetic products out of respect for the environment.
\nSince 2010, we have been working to eliminate microplastics from almost all of our products, and since 2019 we are proud to say that our entire product range is 100% free of microplastics. <\/span><\/p>\n

Microplastics can find their way into nature and thus into the human food cycle in various ways, where they can accumulate over centuries and have potentially harmful effects on health.
\nAlthough the proportion of microplastics from cosmetic products is relatively low compared to other sources, we take our responsibility seriously and are committed to comprehensive environmental protection. <\/span><\/p>\n

WHY IS IT A CHALLENGE TO DEVELOP DEODORANTS WITHOUT MICROPLASTICS?<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>Microplastic particles are often used as binders or stabilizers in deodorants to improve the consistency and effectiveness of the products.
\nThey help to ensure that the deodorant stick remains malleable and does not crumble, and ensure that the application is smooth and pleasant.
\nThe challenge in developing microplastic-free deodorants is to find natural or biodegradable alternatives that deliver the same performance without harming the environment.
\nAt CL Cosmetic, through intensive research and the selection of high quality ingredients, we have successfully developed formulas that are both effective and environmentally friendly. <\/span><\/p>\n

Through our commitment to transparency and environmental responsibility, we at CL Cosmetic are proud to offer our customers products that are not only effective but also sustainable.<\/span><\/p>\n

WHAT DOES MICROPLASTIC MEAN FOR CL?<\/h3>\n

Microplastics can be found in two main forms: primary and secondary microplastics.
\nPrimary microplastics consist of small plastic pellets that are produced industrially for further processing in various products.
\nSecondary microplastics, on the other hand, result from the decomposition of larger plastic parts, influenced by physical, biological and chemical processes in the environment.
\nImportant sources of secondary microplastics are human activities such as the washing of synthetic textiles, which accounts for 35% of the environmental impact, and tire abrasion from vehicles, which contributes a further 28%.
\nUrban particulate matter, wear and tear from road markings and the remains of ship coatings also contribute to the spread of microplastics.
\nOnly a small percentage, around 2%, comes directly from cosmetic products. <\/span><\/p>\n

The health and ecological effects of secondary microplastics have not yet been fully researched, but at CL Cosmetic we take this issue seriously and work proactively to minimize our ecological footprint.
\nOur definition of microplastics follows the EU regulation as set out in the Official Journal of the European Union L180\/2017.
\nThis defines microplastics as: <\/span><\/p>\n

“Particles with a size of less than 5 mm of an insoluble, macromolecular plastic obtained either by polymerization processes such as polyaddition or polycondensation, by chemical modification of natural or synthetic macromolecules or by microbial fermentation.”<\/strong><\/p>\n
